EXT. EVENING. CITY STREET LINED WITH CAFE'S AND SHOPS.

Jack and Demetri, dressed sharp for work in all black slacks, shirts, and blazers are walking down the street side by side while smoking cigars.

DEMETRI
I wouldn't worry about it, Jack. Xiomara is an amazing girl and she's crazy about you. Any idiot can see that. I'd give her some space and let her do her thing back home for a minute and let her figure herself out. You know she'll come back. Besides, the two of you still have time. You've got a year before she graduates, so don't rush things. Getting married will be the biggest decision either of you ever make, trust me.
JACK
(smirks)
What? You've been married?
DEMETRI
Technically still am, but I don't ever intend to go back to Germany so it really doesn't count.
JACK
So, what about you and Sheila?
DEMETRI
(amused)
Sheila? Sweet girl, but not really my type once we're out of the bedroom, you know. Too sweet. Too naive.
JACK
Fuckfriends, then, huh?
DEMETRI
Pretty much. She's on fire between the sheets, and her body is sick, man, but my attraction ends about there. I wish it wouldn't, but that's the way it is. She's cool with it. She understands.
JACK
(smirks)
O.K., if you say so, but you better be careful, Demetri. I catch her looking at you with those love-sick doe-eyes when you come down to the front door. Better make sure she doesn't poke holes in your condoms.
DEMETRI
Yea right! Not me pal! Besides, nothing a baseball bat can't fix!
JACK
(laughing)
That's fucked up, bro.
DEMETRI
Hey, I thought we were working on your fucked up love-life with your would-be bride, not mine.
JACK
(smiling)
Alright, go ahead.
DEMETRI
You need to give Xiomara some more space and time. Pressuring a thoroughbred like her will get you absolutely nowhere. Trust me. I speak from experience. High maintenance comes in all kinds of disguises, but it is what it is and you either play ball or go home.
JACK
Yea, I know. Listen, everything you said is dead on but I'm starting to get a little more than just frustrated with her. I know she's great and all that, but I feel like I'm passing up on so many killer pieces of ass. I mean, fuck, I'm tripping over pussy every night at work. It wouldn't bother me if I knew Xiomara and I were gonna get married and we were already engaged, but I feel like she's tagging me along. Like it's not gonna happen.
DEMETRI
C'mon, Jack. You're not married yet. What she...

Cell phone starts ringing. Jack picks up.

JACK
(to Demetri)
This is her. One second.
(answering phone in sweet voice)
Hi baby.

CUT TO:

INT. EVENING. XIOMARA'S APARTMENT.

Xiomara lounges with a book in her lap on an overstuffed chair near a window in her lavishly decorated apartment.

XIOMARA
Hi darling. I'm just calling to apologize for yesterday.
JACK
(phone)
No baby don't apologize. I was being a Jerk. I should be the one apologizing.
XIOMARA
That's o.k. papi. I know you didn't really mean it. I just wanted to call and say I love you and was thinking about you, and wish you a safe night at work.
JACK
(phone)
Thanks baby. I'll see you tomorrow on Campus. Love you. Ciao.
XIOMARA
Love you. Ciao papi.

Jack turns off his phone and puts it back in his pocket. The type of phone he has is like a Nokia which has the buttons exposed unlike a flip phone.

DEMETRI
Ah, you two are fine.

CUT TO:

SPECIAL F/X: ECU of the phone as it goes back into Jack's pocket. The flashing display screen reads "Redialing Xiomara." The camera dissolves through his pants, shooting into the sky high above the earth to a satellite, then redirected back to earth to Xiomara's apartment phone which rings.

CUT TO:

INT. EVENING. XIOMARA'S APARTMENT.

Smiling, Xiomara runs over from her bedroom to her answering machine which already picks up. First happy to hear Jack's voice, she almost picks up the phone, but stops herself and sits. Her smile turns into a frown as she listens to the ensuing conversation.

JACK
(PHONE)
Sort of. What were you saying?
DEMETRI
(PHONE)
I was saying that, what Xiomara doesn't know won't hurt her. Jack, you gotta notice how the women throw themselves at you out at the door.

EXT. EVENING. CITY STREET LINED WITH CAFE'S AND SHOPS.

Puffing on their cigars, Demetri and Jack continue their conversation while they walk.

JACK
Yea, I hear ya.
DEMETRI
(matter of factly)
Dude at work, you could be nailing a chick a night in the coatroom or up on the roof or in the offices or in the cellar. Instead, you cavalierly toss them aside for me to have. I don't mind, bro, but what I'm saying is you're not married. Hell, you're not even engaged. You should take advantage of working the hottest door in the city. You're a rockstar!
JACK
(laughing)
Whatever, Demetri.
DEMETRI
Whatever? Listen. Tonight, you and I are gonna find a couple sluts and tag-team them back at my place.
JACK
(amused)
Alright, man. You set it up and I'm there. But I don't want your balls anywhere near mine.
DEMETRI
(laughing)
Copy that! Now, work your charm at getting us a table.
JACK
(smiling)
No problem.

Jack and Demetri arrive at the front entrance of a trendy restaurant where a crowd of people are waiting on line out the door for tables. Jack and Demetri politely ease their way into the restaurant to the Hostess station.

CUT TO:

INT. EVENING. TRENDY RESTAURANT

Jack smiles and politely motions his hand to a lovely HOSTESS in an evening gown. Her stressed face suddenly lights up at seeing Jack, and she waves him in through the crowd.

HOSTESS
(pleasantly)
Jack, you always pick the busiest time to drop by, but I always have room for you cause I love you.
JACK
(smiling)
I'm sure you'll let me return the favor later tonight at Clubworld.
HOSTESS
(smiling)
Of course.

The hostess leads them to the rear of the restaurant. People in line who've they just cut stare and grumble at Jack and Demetri, trying to figure out who they are to get the star treatment.
